- Tier 1 (13.5%) goes to SSNIT for the basic pension. Of this, 2.5% is passed on to the National Health Insurance Scheme.
- Tier 2 (5%) goes to a private occupational scheme run by a licensed fund manager.
- Tier 3 is voluntary. Contributions up to 16.5% of basic salary are tax-free.
Contributions are charged on basic salary only, up to the maximum insurable earnings of GH₵69,000.00 a month (from 1 January 2026).
