How do I find a business?

Type what you need (a business name, a service like “pharmacy”, or a product) in the search box, and add a city or area if you like. You can also browse all categories, or open a city to see its businesses by category and area.

Can I see which businesses are open right now, or near me?

Yes. On search and category pages, use the Open now filter to show businesses whose opening hours say they are open. Near me sorts businesses by distance from you; your browser asks first, and your location is only used for that search.

How do I save a business for later?

Tap the heart on any business. Your saved businesses are on the Saved page. Without an account they are kept in this browser only; signed in, they follow you to any device.

Is the information on GhanaBusinessWeb correct?

Businesses are checked by our team before they appear, and owners can update their own details. Claimed by owner means the owner manages the listing, and Verified marks paid listings we have checked. Details can still change, so it is worth calling before you travel. If something is wrong, please tell us (see “I found wrong information”).

Can I install GhanaBusinessWeb on my phone?

Yes. Open the site in your phone’s browser and choose Add to Home screen (or Install app). It opens like an app, loads quickly and still shows the pages you visited recently when you are offline.

How do I add my business?

Create a free account, add your phone number to your profile, then click Add your business. Fill in the details and submit. You can add your logo and photos straight away while we review it.

Is it free?

Yes. A free listing is free for as long as your business exists: your contact details, location on the map, opening hours, description, up to 6 photos, 3 extra types of business and 5 tags. Paid plans are optional (see “What do paid plans add?”).

How long does approval take?

Our team checks every new business by hand to keep out spam and fake listings, usually within 1–2 working days. We email you when it is live. We only list businesses with a real presence in Ghana, including online businesses based here.

How do I update my business details?

Sign in and open My businesses, then choose Edit. Changes to an approved business appear straight away; our team is told so we can check them.

Can my business appear under more than one type?

Yes. Choose your main type of business, then tick up to 3 more under More types of business (more on paid plans). Customers find you on each of those pages. Add tags for the words customers search for, such as “printing” or “banners”.

Can I add more than one business?

Yes, one account can manage several businesses. Add each one separately.

My business is already listed but I didn’t add it. How do I take it over?

Open your business page and click Claim this business. We email a 6-digit code to confirm your email address, then ask for proof that you own or manage the business (a document, or we call you). Once our team approves it, the listing is yours to manage.

What can I do once my business is listed?

From your account you can reply to reviews, answer customer questions, post offers and announcements, add products, see your page’s visitor statistics, and post jobs and classified ads as the business. We also send owners a short weekly email with their numbers (you can turn it off).

How do I remove my business?

Open My businesses, edit the listing and choose Remove listing. If the business closed for a while, tick Temporarily closed instead: customers see a notice and your listing stays.

What do paid plans add?

Paid listings rank above free ones in search and category pages, show more photos, types of business and tags, and carry the Verified badge. Featured plans also appear in highlighted spots.

• Basic Listing: GH₵199.00 (one payment, never expires). 10 photos, 6 extra types of business, 8 tags.
• Premium Listing: GH₵699.00 (per year). 20 photos, 10 extra types of business, 15 tags.
• Long Term Premium: GH₵1,999.00 (one payment, never expires). 20 photos, 12 extra types of business, 15 tags.

How do I pay?

Open My businesses and choose Upgrade on the listing. You pay online by mobile money or card through Paystack; the plan starts as soon as the payment is confirmed. Your receipts are under Payments.

What happens when a paid plan ends?

We email you a week before. If you don’t renew, your listing simply goes back to the free plan and stays on the site.

How do I write a review?

Open the business page, choose a star rating and tell others about your experience. You can add up to 3 photos. Reviews are checked before they appear, to keep out spam and abuse.

What does “Helpful” on a review do?

It tells other visitors which reviews were most useful. You can mark each review once.

Can I ask a business a question?

Yes. Use Questions & answers on the business page; the owner is told and their answer appears for everyone. To contact the business privately, use the message form or call them.

A business replied to my review or removed it. Why?

Owners can reply to reviews publicly, but they cannot edit or remove them. Our team removes reviews that break our terms of service, for example fake reviews, personal attacks or advertising.

How do I post a classified ad?

Sign in and choose Post an ad. Pick a category, fill in the details (some categories ask for more, like the make and model of a car) and add photos. Ads are checked before they appear and run for 90 days; you can renew in the last two weeks.

Can I post an ad as my business?

Yes. Choose Business and pick one of your businesses. The ad shows your business name and appears on your business page. If the business is still waiting for approval, the ad goes live once the business is approved.

How do I post a job?

Sign in and choose Post a job. Jobs are checked before they appear. Candidates apply through the site and you receive their applications by email. You can pay to feature a job at the top of the list.

Can I get new jobs or ads by email?

Yes. Search on the jobs or classifieds page, then use Get new jobs (or ads) by email. Choose daily or weekly; we only email when there is something new. Without an account you confirm your address first. Every email has a link to stop it, and signed-in users can manage them under My alerts.

How do I stay safe when buying or applying?

Meet in a public place, inspect items before you pay, and never send money in advance to someone you haven’t met. Genuine employers do not ask for fees to apply. If an ad or job looks like a scam, report it to us.

I forgot my password.

Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and we will email you a link to choose a new one. If you signed up with Google or Facebook, you can keep signing in that way.

How do I make my account more secure?

Turn on two-step sign-in in your profile. You then enter a code from an authenticator app when you sign in.

How do I stop emails from GhanaBusinessWeb?

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can choose which emails you get in your profile.

How do I delete my account?

Go to your profile and choose Delete account. Read our privacy policy for what we keep and why.

I found wrong information, or a business that has closed.

Use Report this listing on the business page and tell us what is wrong. Our team checks every report. If it is your business, claim it and fix it yourself.
